Send files securely through your browser

Firefox Send is a file sharing web-app that lets you conduct easy and fast file transfers. The process is really simple because all you need to do is upload your files either by clicking on the upload button or by simply dragging it towards the designated space. Firefox then will generate a link where your files can be accessed and downloaded.

Safe deliveries

Uploading your files on the Internet can be a little sketchy for you, but you can rest assured with Firefox Send. The app ensures end-to-end encryption in order to make sure that only you and other authorized parties can open and access the files. Additionally, the generated link automatically expires after a certain amount of time. This means that whatever you have uploaded on FireFox Send will never stay online for long. You can choose the duration and number of downloads that can be done using the generated link for your files. Once it has reached the time and download limit, the link will no longer be available and your files will cease to exist on the Internet. Adding passwords to your links are also possible to make it extra secure and safe from possible information stealers. People who do not know the password will not be able to download your file.

Share large files

You are allowed to send multiple files at once and up to a total of 2.5 GB. After you are able to select a file to send, Firefox Send will give you an option to add another file to upload if you want to. Right below it are dropdown boxes where you can choose the expiry date of your links and how many downloads are allowed before the file is taken down from the Internet. There is also the option to protect the file with a password. Once you have these filled out, you can click the upload button. It will take a few seconds before the file is completely uploaded to Firefox Send and once done, it will present you with a link that you can now copy and share with others.

Convenient file sharing

Firefox Send is very simple both in its looks and how it operates. This is ideal for quick and rushed file sharing especially for people who are on the go or are running after a deadline. Firefox Send may not have cloud storage or an online library like Dropbox and Google Drive, but its focus is on fast, convenient, and secure file sharing and it does get the job done without any complications.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
